parent education

At SBFT, the parents are as much the students as the children.

In the one-day classes, the parents are encouraged to activly participate with their child and each class features a discussion regarding various parenting topics. In addition, the teachers set aside time following class to meet individually with parents regarding any specific concerns.

In the multi-day classes, parents work in the classroom one-day a week. Typically, parents take turns being responsible for a specific activity, such as art, fine motor skills, science, etc. Each week there is a different theme, and the teachers work with the parents to come up with appropriate activities.

Classes that meet three or more days a week also have a required night meeting ten times during the year. Topics range from discipline to health topics to teaching children about race and more!
